Why skiing is so good for your health

Let go of everything!
Let go of everything!

A deep breath of fresh air

Why? Simply because at altitude, our bodies produce more red blood cells. These red blood cells help to keep us healthy – that’s why athletes spend time training at high altitudes.

Overindulge in mountain air… Yes, it’s good for you!

A change of scene guaranteed

White. Lots and lots of white. Endless white peaks as far as you can see, immense white spaces, infinite and radiant… It doesn’t matter direction you look, it’s beautiful everywhere! Whether the weather is glorious or it’s snowing, the landscape is simply magical… For instance, imagine skiing in fresh powder between the meringue-encrusted trees of a forest swathed in mist…

A mountain for everyone

Do you adore wide, open spaces? No problem: head up to the top of the ski area and you’ll feel like you’re the only person in the entire world! Put these places on your list: Cime Carron in Val Thorens, Mont Vallon in Méribel or Signal in Courchevel Moriond.

Do you prefer a Scandinavian atmosphere, pine trees drooping under the weight of the snow? Ski the enchanting forest of La Tania or the Altiport, you’re going to love it.

Sports as relaxed or challenging as you'd like

Die-hard sportsperson or occasional athlete, there’s something for all tastes in Courchevel and Les 3 Vallées. A few runs in the morning, carefully picked out the evening before, then at lunchtime install yourself comfortably on a restaurant terrace… With a backdrop of iconic alpine peaks, you’ll feel like you’re starring in a film!

Looking for a bit of inspiration?

  • Perfect for beginners discovering skiing: the drag lifts and chairlifts located at the bottom of the Courchevel 1850 ski area are ideal. The Pralong and Bellecôte chairlifts will quickly become your go-to allies for progressing with confidence and ease.

  • For intermediate skiers comfortable on the slopes: the Moriond sector offers a wide range of blue and red runs. Don’t miss the “Indiens” slope — a true invitation to escape and explore!

  • For expert skiers seeking adventure: head to the black runs of the Grand Couloir at La Saulire or the legendary Eclipse slope, accessible from the top of the new Chenus gondola. Perfecting your turns is an art that anyone can continue to refine.

Let’s just say that in Courchevel and across Les 3 Vallées, there’s no shortage of options — every day is a chance to discover a new slope, hone your skills, and push your limits.

Escape the crowds

It’s possible, even on skis and even in the largest ski area in the world. You just have to want it!

Head to the far west of the ski area for a peaceful break in a preserved spot: Nid des Avals. To get there, go to Courchevel Moriond and take the Pyramides ski lift. This quiet area is full of little-used slopes, perfect for enjoying the silence and the beauty of nature.

Another option is La Tania, for an escape into the heart of the fir trees. Here, the atmosphere changes: it’s all about the magic of the forest, peaceful trails, and an intimate setting, perfect for recharging away from the hustle and bustle.
