A huge premiere for Courchevel: the Chenus gondola is open this summer ! A fantastic occasion to reach new heights… Embark on your voyage in comfort and sail to the summits.

At the top, the décor is perfect for your mountain experience.

A chilly little breeze? Don’t worry, we’ve thought of everything! Head to the indoor picnic room, located at the arrival station to warm up in a cosy spot.

Sunshine and hot temperatures at the top? Take a seat at one of our picnic tables and enjoy the scenery. And why not climb to the Nid de la Loze - our cabin with a view - to continue the adventure?

With your family or friends, the Chenus gondola lift is the ideal meeting place to share a picnic, chat about your adventures and admire the most beautiful panoramas in the Alps.

Prefer cycling?

A Mountain bike lift pass in your pocket, means you’re ready to ride, before meeting your friends on foot for a much-deserved lunch.

Warming up the legs

Your warm-up starts with the blue run ‘Godille’, as you flow through those berms along the forest trail, riding raised bridge sections, gravel, roots and the features.

  • Access: From the Croisette, take the Verdons gondola

  • Distance: 3 km

  • Altitude drop: 300 m

For seasoned riders

The red piste ‘la Modzon’ is reserved for riders who are comfortable on technical terrain. From the Saulire summit, head straight down the steep, winding between rocky and dirt terrain. A wild XXL ride guaranteed.

  • Directions: The Verdons gondola lift then the Saulire cable car.

  • Distance: 4.5 km

  • Altitude drop: 600 m

When the time comes to meet your hiking friends at the summit of Chenus and refuel, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to finding an MTB route to reach the bottom of Chenus to take the gondola.

On a road bike

You prefer to climb up to the summits? Launch your assault on the iconic Col de la Loze made famous by the Tour de France. This emblematic ascent offers a genuine challenge to road cyclists, with challenging steeps and exceptional alpine landscapes.

  • Distance: 25.8 km round trip
  • Altitude gain: + 930 m

Prefer walking?

Prefer to experience the mountains on foot than by bike? Courchevel offers numerous itineraries to explore the mountains, from a gentle walk with the family or a more adventurous hicking route.

A walk before a well-earned snack

Head out for an intermediate level walk on the sentier des Verdons n°17. The route snakes between scree and rhododendrons, offering magnificent viewpoints along the whole trail.

 Once you arrive at the top of Chenus, enjoy a contemplative moment at Blue Lake.

  • Access: From the Croisette take the Verdon gondola

  • Distance: 4.1 km

  • Average time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

  • Altitude gain: 180 m elevation gain

Take your time, you’re on holiday!

Had a long lie-in? Visiting with young children? Or you just want to enjoy the mountains without walking too far?

Thanks to the Chenus gondola, accessing the picnic area and enjoying the panorama is a day out in itself. With a pedestrian pass or a one-off ticket to the top, get to the summit easily with a comfortable gondola ride.

For Families
The summit is accessible for pushchairs

Families with young children can easily get to the picnic spaces with a pushchair/buggy using the Chenus gondola. The arrival station is at road level and you can access the road leading to Col de la Loze in 2 minutes via an off-road track. The wide track to Col de la Loze is tarmac, and gives you access to the picnic tables in just 5 minutes. An easy walk to make the most of lunch in the mountain air.

Get together for a break

After a morning filled with discoveries and sensations, meet up for a picnic facing the Vanoise glaciers. Take a seat at the picnic tables or walk over to the Nid de la Loze cabin to share the highlights of your morning’s activities.

Between hiking anecdotes and re-runs of the MTB descents, everyone has their tale to tell!

And if it’s a little chilly at the top? Head in to the ‘Salle Hors-Sac’ picnic room in the Chenus arrival station to chill out, sheltered from the breeze.

Next stop : the Le Praz lake for a refreshing pause. Surrounded by mountains, it’s the perfect spot for a dip.

  • Access: Pedestrians can descend via Chenus then Praz gondolas.

  • Useful info: the lifts are all free for the ride downhill

Get your helmet on

Launch yourself down ‘La Louza’! This 3km red, completely redesigned, promises a good dose of adrenaline with its berms, features and varied route options. With its 930m altitude descent, the trail races all the way down to Courchevel 1850… And lets you fully enjoy the thrill of riding at the heart of the Alps.
