White mountains, blue skies and the burnished metallic letters of Meribel’s signature logo make a fabulous composition. Gather your family and friends into the shot and say it loud and proud: ‘We’re in Meribel!’ - at the heart of the biggest ski area in the World.
How will you pose? Let your artistic freedom loose!
Beautifully carved from a huge trunk of douglas fir free, this gorgeously tactile sculpture is located at the summit of Roc de Tougne in Meribel, above wild terrain dotted with pines. Follow your instincts: feel free to climb up and make yourself part of this sculpture: smell the freshly-cut wood, touch the frozen sap and admire the views of Mont Blanc in the distance.
Don’t forget to hashtag #meribel #backtothewild, your pictures might be published!
vScattered throughout Meribel and Courchevel’s ski area, you’ll find loads of opportunities to make yourself into a human work of art!
At the top of Roc de Fer, Saulire, Roc de Tougne, Mont Vallon… The list goes on, so we won’t give away all the spots – over to you to seek them out and get creative with your friends!
Elegant, proud and presiding over the wilderness… At the iconic peak of La Masse in Les Menuires, this statuesque 3m high carved ‘bouquetin’ lends a warm wooden accent to the black and white hues of this high-altitude terrain.
A visit to the 3 Vallées wouldn’t be complete without a snap of this fine beast and, who knows, perhaps you’ll be able to capture a real ibex on camera…
Top tip: Head to Courchevel’s Marmottes chairlift – there are binoculars for public use which are focussed on the steep crags opposite – a popular ‘bouquetin’ hideout!
You haven’t been to Courchevel unless you’ve had your photo next to one of the larger-than-life scultpures which are dotted around the ski area.
Perched on the peaks of Saulire, Vizelle, Chenus, Biollay, works of art by Richard Orlinski and Julien Marinetti add a splash of vivid colour to the monochrome mountains. These works are full of imagination, so get creative with your camera!
