This red run is a must in Courchevel for a number of reasons: it's long, wide and steep, making it ideal for carving skiers: 5-star skiing! It starts at the summit of Saulire, the link between Courchevel and Méribel, and ends at the departure point of the Vizelle gondola.
For a longer descent, we highly recommend continuing to Courchevel 1850 and then to Le Praz, on the red Brigues piste.
You start this run in an atmosphere punctuated by grandiose panoramas, offering an almost 360° view of the peaks of the Alps, including Mont Blanc (4806m), Grande Casse (3855m), La Meije (3984m), Les Ecrins (4102m) and more. Take the time to appreciate the scenery and let your eyes wander among the peaks and whiteness.
We love this view when the sea of clouds invites itself into the landscape: what luck to be above it! A true gift of nature.
The trail then leads to Courchevel 1850 before entering the forest, winding its way between majestic spruce trees.
Another highlight here, when the trees are covered in snow: landscapes worthy of Lapland or Canada. Another gift from Pachamama ( nature).
Access from Courchevel 1850 : Verdons gondola > Vizelle gondola
There's no doubt about it, this run stands out as the jewel of Meribel: a long red run, rich in turns and slope changes, offering spectacular views over the Tueda nature reserve and the Méribel valley. Continuing to Méribel Centre via the « Ours » and « Truite » runs, you embark on an 11 km ski descent! A true wilderness adventure for lovers of high-quality skiing, all on cold snow thanks to its northerly exposure.
If you haven't yet explored the summit of Mont Vallon, now's the time: a breathtaking view of the largest glacier in the 3 Valleys, where crevasses and seracs take shape, an easily accessible high-mountain atmosphere not to be missed under any circumstances. The trail then offers a panoramic view of the whole valley below, with « Lac de Tueda » (nature reserve) in the foreground, then Mottaret, Méribel and all the villages in the valley.
Following the blue piste de l'Ours, you can also admire the natural environment, with some century-old "Arolles" trees and snow-covered Lac de Tueda on the right. A gentle descent to give your thighs a rest after the Combe du Vallon red run.
Once in Méribel-Mottaret, the green « Truite » trail snakes through the forest, linking Méribel Mottaret to Méribel Centre. Even for experienced skiers, this green run is a real visual treat.
Access from Courchevel: Verdons gondola > Vizelle gondola > Méribel Mottaret > Plattières gondola > Mont Vallon gondola
