WINTER 2022-2023 | PEDESTRIAN ACCESS TO MERIBEL IMPOSSIBLE
Following the incident of the Saulire cable car and its closure, there will be no pedestrian link between Méribel and Courchevel this season.
The pedestrian path between the top of the Vizelle gondola (high point accessible to pedestrians in Courchevel) and the Saulire (switch between Courchevel and Méribel) is too dangerous for access on foot (slope and great distance; risk of falling and skier flow).

The Col de la Loze is in all modesty one of the most beautiful places in the 3 Vallées. In an idyllic setting at the crossroads between Courchevel and Meribel, perched at an altitude of 2304m, the place irresistibly calls for a break. From this large open and sunny space, you can admire a 360° view and be speechless in front of the Grande Casse, the Grand Bec, the Aiguilles d'Arves... all the mythical summits of the Alps are there, without forgetting the Mont-Blanc of course.
Did you know that this pass is also famous in summer? For cycling, who would have thought it! Stage of the Tour de France 2020, the arrival of the 17th stage of the Tour de France 2023 will also take place at the Col de La Loze, this time with a climb to Courchevel! See you on July 19th for its spectacular finish!
Want a break suspended in time on the summits? Go to the Col de la Loze and its chalet of the Nid de la Loze!
After a short 15-minute walk if you arrive from the top of the Chenus gondola (accessible with a pedestrian pass), a few steps from the blue trail "La Loze", stop for a moment of well-being. With the air of an old mountain hut, like an ancient refuge (which can still be found in Vanoise), you will be irresistibly drawn to this authentic chalet whose triangular shape stands out against the snowy peaks in the background. Picnic tables allow you to take a lunch or snack break nearby, while under its roof, you are free to choose your camp: rather facing the sun and with a view on the slope or a disconnected break with your eyes turned towards the glaciers and the Mont Blanc? In both cases, the XXL size deck chairs invite you to relax.
No lie between us: vacations in the mountains obviously rhyme with lazing around on sunny terraces... And in Courchevel, you have the choice! To help you make this choice, we have selected for you the most beautiful terraces. To read HERE !
Art at the top in Courchevel: an open-air museum unique in the mountains. Each year, an artist is honored with his monumental works at the top of the slopes and in the resort center. After several years of exhibition of Orlinski's work, including the monumental Kong or White Bear at the top of Vizelle, since December 2022 Lorenzo Quinn's works are displayed at the top.
The FACIM foundation offers you to discover all his works by a walk in the heart of the station and marked out by monumental sculptures of Lorenzo Quinn. Exposed in the open air, like an open-air museum, they offer reflections and contours that change according to the weather conditions, to better surprise you at the turn. More information here.
